Jose Raul Vaquero Pulido was born in Caceres (Extremadura - Spain) in 1969, into a family with deep values of respect for the dignity of individuals. He did his undergraduate and doctoral studies in "Documentation Sciences" at the University of Salamanca (1998).
From 2000 to 2003 he worked in Spain as consultant for several technology companies in telecommunication sector, and founded in 2003 the company Documentate Internet, which he is General Director. |
Since 1998, when he was named VicePresident of AUCAL Foundation, his personal and professional career has been linked to the so-called Not Lucrative Third Sector. In 2000 he founded the Asociacion Hispana de Documentalistas en Internet (AHDI), which he is the Honorary President, and in 2005 the Documentation Sciences Foundation, which he is current President and Patron.
In 2003 he was considered by the International Association of Business Leaders (USA) as one of the spanish leaders in Information and Documentation fields. In June 2006 he was appointed in the Cuacos de Yuste Monastery (Caceres - Extremadura - Spain) as Knight of the Royal Order of Yuste, whose mission is to ensure the ideals of unity and brotherhood between the european peoples. Since May 2007 he is Human Rights Ambassador, proclaimed by the USA Organization Youth For Human Rights International. In May 2008 he joined The Club of Rome as member of the Spanish Chapter.
His support for the development of all cultures and peoples has earned him the appointment as VicePresident of the Honor Committee for the "Proclamation of Pardon of the Kingdom of Spain to the Black Community by Slavery and Trafficking", June 2008; the international award "Mérito a la Labor D. Emilio Castelar, 2008"; and Honorary VicePresident of "A human gesture with Africanodescendientes" Proclamation of Pardon application of the Kingdom of Spain to the Black Community by Slavery and Trafficking - by the Congress of Deputies of Spain, and Events Tribute to Hon. Mr Emilio Castelar and the memory of the victims of slavery, black Holocaust, a crime against humanity, in September 2008.
On May 7 the Senate of the Republic of Colombia, in resolution no. 112 of 2007, gave him the Order of the Congress of Colombia at the level of Knight for his outstanding contributions in the Documentation field. He has been declared in 2008 Guest of Honor of the Colombian cities of Popayan and Armenia, receiving in the latter the keys to the city.
Recognition of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship - Bolivian Diplomatic Academy "for his valuable contribution to the work to help fight corruption, provide public information about the change, thus contributing to a steady spread of the transparent values which must exist in the country". Author of books and opinion articles, he is member of numerous scientific and cultural networks, as well as teacher in training programs specializing in senior direction, among other activities of national and international cooperation. He has signed a large number of collaboration agreements with public and private institutions in over 20 countries. He has participated as a speaker at important international events related with the Information and Knowledge Society, which have been collected in various scientific publications. He's also analyst in Latin American affairs for various government and media.
He is member of various honor committees, among which the "Forum 2010 Compostela" under the auspices of the United Nations and UNESCO, VicePresident of the Honorary Committee of "The Reconciliation and Peace Week 2010", and the "2nd International Convention of Archivists".
