Who are the organizers?

The Congress is being organized by the Documentation Science Foundation, whose president is Mr. José Raúl Vaquero Pulido, and the Foundation for a Culture of Peace, whose president is Mr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, with the advice of the APDHE.

What is the Congress’ slogan?

Information: the universal right of all peoples.

What are their backgrounds?

The International Congress on Information and Human Rights has its background in three events made by Documentation Sciences Foundation, and the experience of the Foundation for a Culture of Peace.

1 - The Seminar "Information Technologies and the challenge of Human Rights" organized in 2006.

2- The conclusions of the first InfoCC meeting wich was made in May 2008 in the city of La Paz (Bolivia).

3- The 2nd World Congress "Information and Knowledge: Technology Issues" held in Santo Domingo City (Dominican Republic), in May 2009.

What are the official languages of the Congress?

Spanish will be the official language of the event, but messages in English, French and Portuguese will be allowed in the online debates by Facebook. There will be simultaneous translation in Santiago de Compostela (Spain).

Who will participate?

The event is open to all individuals and institutions including political entities, those devoted to information, communication and documentation sciences, Information Technologies, as well as those related to Human Rights, in any area of the world, regardless of their ideologies or beliefs.

What are the future goals of the Congress?

To launch a research and advice network, with theoretical and practical elements, to attend various organizations and individuals who work with projects in information and Human Rights.
