Presentation
Innovative technology is an important tool in the justice system, opening new doors for the improvement of systematization of justice. IT, new systems of Documentation, and e-Knowledge are unquestionably the pillars of such efforts, along with training and capacity building programs.
Undoubtedly, these efforts will also bring the system of justice closer to all members of society, and in particular, to people with disabilities, immigrants, residents of rural areas, while also simplifying procedures and reducing costs. They also imply that the administration of justice will be more efficient and dynamic for all users.
Objectives
1 - To facilitate a more efficient and dynamic access to, and understanding of, the justice system for all members of society including the disabled, immigrants, and residents of rural areas, among others.
2 - To understand the importance of the influence of new technologies on different actors in the justice system.
3 - To analyze the function and design of technologies and their adaptability for their use and development.
4 - To provide a forum for the diffusion of information regarding the function of technologies for professionals interested in the topic.
Participants
- Law students, academics, researchers in law and other related subjects.
- Public servants from the justice system, experts in Systems of Information, Documentation and Communication, and other public officials or members of the diplomatic corps.
- Politicians and members of Congress in charge of defining national legislation related to access and use of public information, and rights of broadcasting.
